Portland Restaurants and Hotels
New Technologies, Inc. (NTI) conducts computer forensic training is attended by computer specialists from all over the world. Dress is 'business casual' during the NTI training sessions (except for the NTI Expert Witness Training Course) and students are advised to obtain a rental car at the airport. Rental cars are also available at the Pony Soldier Inn.

For our Portland classes, NTI holds classes at the following hotel. For maximum convenience, we suggest that attendees stay at the same hotel. You will also receive a special class rate for the week.
Pony Soldier Inn
Our clients and instructors have been very happy with the Pony Soldier Inn since 1996. Don't let the name fool you. This hotel goes out of its way to make NTI clients happy. The Pony Soldier Inn gives you access to a complete health club facility. The hotel is located within close proximity to Portland International Airport and within two blocks of Portland's excellent mass transit system. A short 20-minute ride on the light rail and you can be downtown, dining along the Willamette river. The telephone number for the hotel is 503-256-1504 and the address is 9901 NE Sandy Blvd, Portland, Oregon. The discounted rate for NTI clients is $79 per night. A continental breakfast is provided and each room has a microwave oven and refrigerator. Free shuttle service is available for transportation to and from the airport. Rental cars can also be obtained at the Pony Soldier Inn.

The best seafood and steak restaurant in Portland, along the Columbia River. Salty's Seafood Grill is truly in a class by itself. Anchored right on the river with sweeping views of the mighty Columbia and majestic Mt. Hood in the background, every seat at Salty's offers a majestic view with its two-story decks and walls of windows. Whether enjoying live Dungeness crab and Maine lobster (swimming in saltwater tanks in the lobby) to their world-famous Alaskan salmon and halibut in season, oysters and clams from Northwest beaches or USDA prime aged charbroiled steaks, pasta, chicken or luncheon salads and sandwiches, you will find many choices on their menus to please the most discriminating palette.

The Edgefield Black Rabbit restaurant is located four miles north of Gresham on Halsey Street in a large European bed and breakfast. The site was restored recently and it has a very interesting history. The food is wonderful and it is a great place to go when the weather is good. The prices range from approximately $15 to $35 and they have good wine and beer. We recommend this restaurant for quality food and an interesting atmosphere that you will find nowhere else.

Shopping
Troutdale, Oregon is located within five miles of the NTI training facility. It is the gateway to the beautiful Columbia Gorge scenic area and is also a tourist shopping haven. Discounts are available at the Columbia Gorge Outlet Mall which is represented by over 40 manufactures outlets which include Adidas, Gap, Mikasas, G. Bas, Maidenform, Big Dog, Florsheim, GAP, Norm Thomspon's, Levis, Van Hausen, Calvin Cline and others. Nearby there is a quaint Antique and Gift mall which has become a up scale tourist attraction. This Troutdale, Oregon attraction includes art galleries, antique shops, gift shops, a custom jewelry shop. Oregon also has no sales tax. If you have some time, we recommend that you spend some time in Troutdale.
