Note: DiskSearch Pro has been replaced with NTI's TextSearch NT which has been enhanced for speed and it deals with all MicroSoft operating system searches. All DiskSearch Pro users can easily upgrade to this new forensic search utility.

NTI provides training and computer forensic tools to over 3,700 law enforcement computer crime specialists around the world. One of the most popular forensic tools search was written by William A. Haynes in the early 1990's. It was called DiskSearch Mark II and it was used to quickly find and document the occurrence of strings of text stored on computer storage devices. After its release, it was quickly adopted by and became the text search utility of choice by several law enforcement agencies, e.g. Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigation Division, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), Revenue Canada, etc. However, the original program was designed for FAT 12 and FAT 16 DOS based computer systems. As a result, the tool became outdated with the release of Windows 95b and Windows 98.

In July of 1998, NTI purchased DiskSearch Mark II and worked to upgraded the program to deal with FAT 32 systems and larger hard disk drives. Beginning February 24, 1999, the enhanced program was released under the name DiskSearch 32. Licensed users of the original DiskSearch Mark II software can get the upgrade for a discount. Here is how it works, if you purchased the program after July, 1998 from NTI then you get the upgrade for free. If you purchased the program prior to July, 1998 from William A. Haynes and Associates, then you get the upgrade for the discounted price. This upgrade policy does not pertain to our new DiskSearch Pro version which is used to evaluate DOS, Windows, Windows NT and Windows 2000 computer systems. Call NTI for prices and information.
